We are part of international projects

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport is currently very active in international projects. We understand collaboration with partner institutions and experts from around the world as an important part that broadens our horizons, strengthens research, and opens doors to innovation in the field of healthy lifestyles and sports.

Erasmus KA1: Supporting Quality Education through International Mobility

Within the Erasmus KA1 project, we currently have an approved short-term project to support the quality of education in lifelong learning courses (LLC) and the University of the Third Age (U3A). The goal of the project is to innovate education through short-term mobility of staff, as well as to support cultural exchange, increase international awareness, and provide new opportunities for teachers, students, and the public. This year, we have also been approved for accreditation in adult education, which will significantly support the process of sending employees and LLC participants to international mobilities.

Supporter: Supporting Equal Opportunities

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University is a partner of the SUPPORTER project, which focuses on equality and non-discrimination. In 2021, the University adopted an Equal Opportunities Plan, and in 2022, it historically elected its first female rector. The Faculty identified the need for a strategic approach in sports, contributed to the creation of a European university network, and supported gender equality plans. In 2023, the Vice-Dean for Internationalization represented the Faculty at the 'Women Who Inspire' conference. Subsequently, the SUPPORTER project was launched. At the first meeting, the expectations of the faculty's employees and students were presented.

European Solidarity Corps: Volunteers

Last year, we obtained the prestigious Quality Label within the accreditation for volunteer projects of the European Solidarity Corps. Our organization received accreditation for five years, allowing us to accept new volunteers every year. This accreditation is proof of our commitment to providing quality and effective volunteer programs that bring real benefits to our volunteers, the academic environment, and the general public.

With the acquisition of the Quality Label, we can now expand our activities and welcome 2 new volunteers to our faculty starting this academic year.

Erasmus+ Sport Small scale Partnership

Our faculty is the coordinator of the Erasmus+ Sport Small scale Partnership project Inclusion and Empowerment of Women in Canoe Sport Disciplines.

Women in canoe sport project is based on the partnership of Charles University in Prague, Czech Canoe Union, Slovak Canoeing and Swedish Falu Kanot Klubb. This is a pilot cooperation. In the future, we would like to expand this project globally, as we are convinced of the greater importance of female representation in canoe sport, and of more professional support for their activities.

Therefore, the main objectives are:

- to include and integrate more girls and women (competitors, coaches, trainers, volunteers) into the canoe sport environment. To meet this goal we will organise recruitment events and training camps for girls and women in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden.

- to ensure a widely available, detailed, and accurate education of canoe slalom coaches in the field of effective and sustainable female athlete training methodology. To meet this goal we created this website where you can find articles, interviews, videos and many other materials about female training in canoe slalom.
