Bachelor Degree (3 years full-time)


This programme should form an excellent starting point for those who wish to pursue a career as a physiotherapist. The programme benefits from the expertise of staff, many of whom are health care professionals and scientists, and also from the many social facilities including teaching hospitals.


The physiotherapist - bachelor degree holder - is qualified for a paramedical health care profession. S/he is allowed to provide physiotherapy-related treatment within preventive, diagnostic, remedial and rehabilitation care in physiotherapy, which can be provided in medical facilities of all types, including rehabilitation institutions and specialized departments, social care facilities, spas and sports facilities. The physiotherapist is endowed with practical skills applicable within the full extent of physiotherapy, abilities to act independently and use rationally a broad spectrum of physiotherapeutic methods and procedures, including therapeutic procedures based o¬n physical agents. S/he is able to assess the effect of the therapy applied. The therapist is endowed with knowledge and skills, which comply with the WCPT regulations.


Master Degree (2 years full-time)


The applicants must have a bachelor degree in Physiotherapy involving equivalent professional qualification, which corresponds to our Bachelor programme. Graduates from approved universities providing Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy outside the Czech Republic may be offered an individual study plan, which would minimize any programme differences.


The physiotherapist - master degree holder - is a highly educated health-care specialist qualified for specialized physiotherapeutic care within preventive, diagnostic, remedial and rehabilitation care in physiotherapy, which can be provided in medical facilities of all types, including rehabilitation institutions and specialized departments, social care facilities, spas and sports facilities. The physiotherapist is endowed with the abilities to act independently and use rationally a broad spectrum of physiotherapeutic methods and procedures, including therapeutic procedures based o¬n physical agents. S/he is able to assess the effect of the therapy applied. S/he has the appropriate professional background for practical and theoretical educational leadership in the instruction provided for physiotherapy students. The therapist is endowed with knowledge and skills, which comply with the WCPT regulations.


The Master programme provides specialised courses focused o¬n reflex therapeutic methods according to Bobath, Vojta, Lewit and Kabat, lymphatic drainage technique and treatment of functional female infertility according to Mojzisova.


There is a compulsory research method course and students are required to undertake a tutored research project that usually forms a base for their Master thesis

Graduate profile

The graduate student in the Coach study programme is an expert in general sports training in addition to a specific sport. The graduate has the knowledge in the field of pedagogy, psychology, biomedicine, sport training and didactic progressions in their specific sport. This knowledge enables the graduate to plan and implement training programs in their specific sport in all age categories and all sport performance levels.


Programme characteristics

A task of the new Study Programme is to meet the demand for an education of coaches who do not have ambitions to become a physical education teachers. All the students in the area of Physical Education and Sport have been educated and prepared so far for the career of physical education teachers. The aim of the Programme is to prepare experts in the area of a sport training with coaching and methodical, psychological, social, diagnostic and intervention competences in all levels of sport such as a professional one within their chosen branch of sport, sport for everyone and health reason physical activity programmes. The graduates are expected to be experts in the theoretical designing of training programmes, their application to the practical form of training using the didactic interaction with a specific group of population.

The design of the study plan enables to understand necessary principles from area of applied sport sciences alongside with development of basic movement skills first (during first and partially second year of the study). Their application in specific sport didactic courses is covered later (second and third year) alongside with sport practice.

Graduate profile

The graduate student in the Fitness Coach study programme is an expert in constructing and implementing fitness programs. The graduate has the knowledge from pedagogy, psychology, biomedicine, sport training and nutrition. This knowledge of general didactic principles enables the graduate to create and apply fitness and movement programs with various goals for various groups and populations.


Programme characteristics

A task of the new Study Programme is to meet the demand for an education of fitness coaches who do not have ambitions to become a physical education teachers. The study programme focuses on key aspects of development biomotor abilities. The study plan consists of the theoretical courses from field of pedagogy-psychology, physiology and adaptation, biomechanics and sport training. Subsequently, theoretical foundations are applied and specified in practically oriented courses from area of strengthening, athletics, gymnastics and other sport areas. The graduate has the ability to understand the complexity of development of general and specific biomotor abilities. The graduate is eligible to create and apply movement programs with specific goal and target group.
