Erasmus +

Student trips

Erasmus+ is a European Union program that offers students a unique opportunity to broaden their horizons through study or internships abroad. Through this program, students can gain valuable academic and life experiences, improve their language skills, and build international connections.

The programme is designed for students at all levels of study (bachelor, master and doctoral) and offers various mobility opportunities:

Study Abroad at a Partner University (one semester or a full academic year)
Short-term mobility – for doctoral students only (5–30 days)
Internship (at least two months)
BIP Blended Intensive Program – a combination of in-person (typically 5–7 days) and virtual mobility as part of a short-term intensive program

Study stay

Procedure and requirements for the selection procedure:

Any student can apply for the selection procedure via the web application: login to the UK Web Applications.

After logging into the system, you can view the list of partner institutions by clicking on "Select destination and create application" and setting the filter by home faculty.

Requirements for the Selection Process

Completed online application form
Cover Letter in English
Proof of language proficiency (at least B2 level). If a student does not have a certificate, they may take a placement test at the faculty

Short-term mobility PhD

Doctoral students can undertake short-term physical mobility for the purpose of study or internship abroad. The minimum duration of the trip is 5 days, the maximum is 30 days. The procedure and selection procedures are identical to those of the DG for study visits or practical placements, depending on the type of trip

Detailed information and the amount of the scholarship can be found on the Charles University website: Short-term Ph.D. Mobility - Charles University

Practical internship

A practical internship abroad is an opportunity for students to gain new experience in their field and make new contacts. The internship can take place at the university, in a specific department/laboratory, or in an organization, sports club, etc. A prerequisite for going on an internship is that the student finds a specific workplace that will provide the internship.

It is possible to go on an internship at any time during the year, including summer holidays, with regard to fulfilling study obligations. Internships of 2 - 3 months are supported.

Applications for a practical placement should be submitted well in advance (we recommend at least 2 months before the placement). The selection process takes place at the FTVS at the beginning of each month (September - June).
