Professional details

  • In 1997 graduated in Physical Education and English language teacher studies at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport and Faculty of Arts.

  • In 2000 defended doctoral thesis “Kalokagathia dříve a dnes” (Kalokagathia, Past and Present) in the area of Kinanthropology, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.

  • Since 2002 has been an Assistant at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.

  • In 2014 – habilitatation in the area of Kinanthropology (Associate Professor).

  • Is a member of International Association for the Philosophy of Sport, European Association for the Philosophy of Sport (since 2014 is Vice-president) and Czech Kinanthropologic Society.


Research focus

  • Ethics of sport, values in sport, phenomenology, Olympism, harmony, Eastern philosophy and martial arts
