Since 2023, Charles University has held the Quality Label and is recruiting its first volunteers in its history as part of the European Solidarity Corps programme. The main activity of the volunteer is to promote volunteering itself and its benefits for the students of Charles University by organising their own activities with the aim of presenting volunteering as an intercultural and international way of self-realisation. Among other things, volunteers work at FTVS UK and cooperate with our International Student Team and International Student Office and help organize our flagship events such as Sport Unites, Mind Run, regular sports afternoons and others.
We believe in creating a friendly international environment and enriching both volunteers, students, staff and the public.

Bogdan Poledica
I am Bogdan Poledica and I come from Jagodina, Serbia. Graduated at Faculty of Law in Belgrade and I'm a great lover of youth projects and non-formal education projects, with many years of experience creating various Erasmus+ projects on the topic of sports and healthy physical life, as well as creativity, the use of digital tools for education and green entrepreneurship. By my example, I try to promote a healthy life through various team and individual sports such as volleyball, basketball and running. The main reason for my volunteering is to promote youth mobility at FTVS as well as various EU funded programs, as well as creating healthy lifestyle habits of students during their studies, which will help them a lot later in life when they find a permanent job. My wish is for students to get as many opportunities as possible that would later help them to make our faculty better and to improve the education program in the entire Czech Republic.
Team is not made of the players you WANT, but rather from people you HAVE, so let's make our students part of that winning team that will do their best in the spirit of sportsmanship and leave their heart on the field, and win not only there but also later in life.
Leyla Tahmazli
Hello, I’m Leyla Tahmazli. Currently, I am participating in an European Solidarity Corps volunteering program at Charles University. My goal in doing this was to gain a unique experience where I could further develop my skills and share the opportunities with volunteering with others.
Our work here involves organizing various activities for students. We aim to make their academic journey more memorable by creating opportunities that enhance their social and language skills, provide interesting insights into a new culture, and help them spend their time more productively. I interact with people of different ages from various countries, which plays a significant role in my personal development.
Olivia Hynne
Ahoj – Hello! I am Olivia from Norway, and currently at the faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FTVS) as a long-term volunteer through the European Solidarity Corps. The European Solidarity Corps is ‘’...an EU funding program for young people wishing to engage in solidary activities in a variety of areas.'’ FTVS is a faculty with a huge range of activities, and I am mainly involved in the events which the International Student Team is organizing, but I also take part in different tasks at the administration office. Furthermore, I also try to share intercultural experiences and promote volunteering itself, by interacting and being engaged in this international and multicultural environment which we have here at the faculty.
So, how did I end up here, and how did I choose exactly this program? Well, I did my Erasmus at FTVS some years ago and had an amazing time. Unfortunately, Covid-19 came and interrupted my stay, but since I am interested in languages, I continued to study Czech, so my study background is both in sport and languages, and when I graduated this summer and saw the advertisement, I luckily found another reason to come back to beautiful Prague. Being a volunteer at FTVS brings me many new experiences, tasks, relations, and perspectives. I am kind of in between the employees and students and therefore have a unique opportunity to see how the university sector works from both sides.
Anas Ait Haddouch
AHOJ! This is Anas from Morocco. The new volunteer at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport-Charles University. I finally made it to Prague on the 27th December 2023.
The faculty buildings were almost empty when I arrived because of the holidays. But it was a good opportunity to wonder around the city's castles and churches, and get a taste of Christmas for the very first time. Looking forward to having a nice time here!
